Philips Advanced Reliability Engineer in Shenyang, China

responsible for all reliability activities in NPI development

In this role, you have the opportunity to

Work with R&D product development teams to implement and champion DfR activities and initiatives, develop reliability requirements, establish product level reliability plan, perform reliability test and relevant analyses to ensure that new products meet all of the reliability related requirements.

You are responsible for

  • Working with the project teams to develop a reliability program plan to document tasks, methods, tools, tests and analyses that are required for the success of new products.

  • Participation in preparing schedules, work estimates, test resource for all project assignments and activities.

  • Perform Design FMEAs on all new products and recommending design changes to improve product reliability.

  • Perform PCBA MTBF prediction and lead component derating analysis to ensure the initial design reliability.

  • Lead reliability testing on new and existing products both product level and component level. eg. Do Highly Accelerated Life Testing(HALT) and Highly Accelerated Stress Testing(ALT) to identify product failure modes and potential risk. Perform lifetime estimation for critical component to identify the risk on product lifetime(eg.IGBT,Electrolytic capacitor, High voltage components, etc.) Validating and tracking product requirements through reliability test development.

  • Develop environment test plan and execute test(eg. Temperature, humidity, altitude, vibration, shock, etc.)

  • Participating in product design and reliability reviews during new product development to ensure robustness of product design and manufacturing processes.

  • Preparing reliability summary for milestone review of each project, finish reliability evaluation report before low-volume production.

  • Performing statistical data analysis, regression modeling, Weibull Analysis, supplier process capability analysis, reliability target setting, failure trend analysis for new products and history product.

  • Providing technical feedback to enhance the on-going reliability of products and services.

  • Assisting engineering teams to achieve warranty reduction and improve customer satisfaction by leading quality efforts on problem identification, failure root cause analysis, corrective action development and resolution verification.

  • Good communication with internal and external customers, effectively meeting the reliability relevant needs.

  • Participation in global DfR promotion program, managing and conducting training and workshops on quality and reliability engineering, robustness, and statistics as necessary within product engineering.

To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience

  • B.S. Degree in Engineering

  • 5+ years of experience in new product design or test with application of reliability tools.

  • Solid experience with reliability test (HALT/ALT/MTBF demonstration) and environment test techniques.

  • Solid experience with Design FMEA implementation, and basic failure modes knowledge on electronic product.

  • Basic circuit theory knowledge, solid experience with component reliability test and evaluation.

  • Basic reliability requirement analysis ability, solid experience with reliability prediction by Reliasoft or Relex.

  • Basic statistics knowledge and data analysis ability by Weibull++ or Minitab.

  • Good communication skills and ability to work with multiple function team and customer.

  • Good document writing ability and PPT presentation skill.

  • Ability to drive and implement reliability design and test activities.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects effectively.

  • Medical industry or high reliability product design and test experience is preferred.

  • Certified Reliability Engineer (CRE), Six Sigma (DFSS) certification Green Belt level or higher is preferred.
