Products and Operations University Relations Project Manager (Consultant, Project/Program Management) – Shanghai

Join a global talent development team supporting university recruiting & talent development programs for a 30,000 person organization. The ideal candidate for this role is inspired by providing high quality experiences to candidates & employees, and is a proven team player who can work independently and at all levels of the organization. This person will ensure Dell’s Products & Operations organization achieves university recruiting goals while improving the university relations hiring engine. The UR PM is part of a global team of university relationship leaders that collaborate to develop and strengthen our university strategies, processes & protocols. The PM will collaborate with stakeholders in key sites to program manage all aspects of university relations from building deep campus relationships and guiding the overall campus strategy to ensuring timely execution of offers & hiring. This person will not hesitate to take a leadership role to solve issues as they arise and will demonstrate a sense of urgency. In addition, the PM will provide expertise, guidance, and program management as needed for internship and new college hire development programs, working with local leaders as a subject matter expert to ensure seamless execution and high quality experience for Dell’s college hires.

Role Responsibilities

-Support and drive global University Relations efforts and best practices

-Partner with local business & HR representatives to provide a positive candidate and hiring leader experience

-Manage global governance model to drive accountability

-Ensure success of new college hire onboarding & orientation programs

-Provide expertise, guidance, and program management as needed for formal intern programs in key sites

-Cascade corporate guidelines and processes to stakeholders

-Conduct manager training for recruiting activities

-Act as main point of escalation for business champions and stakeholders

-Support and drive the integration of new leaders into Product & Operations UR programs

-Drive recruitment demand planning activities

-Hiring data tracking and reporting


  • 12+ years of related experience in a professional role with a Bachelor’s degree; or 8+ years with a Master’s degree; or equivalent experience

-Proven cross-functional and global program management skills - ability to work collaboratively across teams in a highly matrixed environment to ensure deliverables are met, schedule is followed, and roadblocks cleared in a timely fashion to provide successful outcome

-High level of detail-orientation - this job has oversight into metrics used to report progress up to senior leaders; Ability to manage data successfully with high level of accuracy is critical

-Comfort with ambiguity - ability to jump in and drive without day to day guidance and flex as business needs change over time

-Comfort working with at all levels of the organization and across cultures

-Basic business and financial acumen required

-Skilled with use of Excel and advanced PowerPoint


-Experience in talent management, recruiting or organizational development preferred
