Johnson Controls Procurement Supervisor in Shanghai, China
In accordance with corporate and group policies and procedures, and under direction of the regional vice president of procurement, the employee shall lead the process for both the planning and procurement of all 3rd party indirect materials required to support our 9 plants across APAC. This position is responsible for an annual spend exceeding $80 million USD from a supply base of over 10,000 suppliers.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop, align, and implement several different supply chain strategies to deliver the most cost-effective methods for our manufacturing plants to procure Indirect Materials from suppliers to execute the solutions we promise our stakeholders. A key deliverable of this role is to ensure our manufacturing plants are efficiently executing our Tower strategies to influence a greater percentage of spend to increase year of year savings.
Matrixed reporting relationship with both the Director, Procurement-Direct Materials.
Meet or exceed profit plan goals related to: Cost Savings, TWC, quality, supplier rationalization, and other agreed objectives
Ensure alignment between our category management team and the unique/specific needs of our manufacturing plants during category strategy development.
Own implementation of category strategies and associated actions to achieve cost reduction goals, including PO-to-PO (Purchasing Order) reductions and rebates
Control and improve the traceability and transparency of purchasing related savings
Support efforts concerning supply base rationalization and supplier development
Guarantee compliance with BOS procedures and DoA requirements
Develop and report business metrics that measure the performance according to business objectives.
Perform other duties as assigned by the vice president of procurement.
SCOPE OF AUTHORITY:
Manage P2P sourcing activities to support demand requirements from manufacturing plants

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE :
Bachelor's degree or equivalent required . 4-5 years of procurement experience with a focus on Indirect procurement.
Candidate with Mechanical Engineering and/or business background are also considered.
Experience in c ost analysis and strong financial knowledge preferred. Good PC / software knowledge/skills.
Candidate should have the ability to cooperate with people of varying levels both inside/outside the organization and interacts with the team to establish and achieve team goals and objectives
Candidate should have the ability grow into a Managerial position and beyond.
Candidate should possess excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to express information/ideas in a professional manner to varying levels of people and customers. Strong English skills required. Multi language capabilities preferred .
