Sr. VPD Process Leader,

Engineering Operations, HTS China

Job Summary:

This

position drives world-class engineering process excellence competencies through

designing, developing and deploying robust processes by bringing in the

integrated approach of VPD, HOS, CMMI, 6 Sigma, Lean and Agile framework.

Over the

last 7 years HOS was customized for Engineering and deployed across HTS, to

establish the right foundation for VPD. This function will integrate the HOS

deployments with the re-anchored VPD and also lead the convergence of the other

focus areas (CMMI, 6 Sigma and Agile). The focus of this integration shall be

on innovation & growth, with a special focus on reducing cycle time and

getting engineering teams closer to the customer.

This position is a results-enabling leadership role. The individual must be both a credible teacher (to diverse levels from work place to leadership) and capable of developing and executing VPD strategies. He/she must be capable of influencing decisions at all levels of the HTS China SBG organization.

Primary responsibilities:

Establish a Lean Product Development (LPD) system which integrates HOS deployment with re-anchored VPD’s Y=F(x) model, which will ensure consistent predictable ‘outcomes’ in terms of NPI Cycle time & NPI driven Organic growth

Integrate product development processes &practices ex: HIP, Agile etc. into the LPD system mentioned above. The LPD system shall in turn be seamlessly integrated with the NPD process of the SBG

Surface out gaps in the value streams attributable to Six-Sigma practices and address the gaps so that it is practiced with intent. Specifically, participate to diagnose root causes for failures and oversee corrective actions

Distill out and deploy the additional value enhancing practices, not mentioned above, like High maturity practices so that teams apply them with intent

Deploy the comprehensive measurement system developed above and use it to improve and sustain our execution effectiveness

Work with SBG Process Excellence Leaders to customize and deploy business-specific processes and practices based on business need

Drive and mentor VPD deployment with SBG Process Excellence Leaders

Lead VPD, HOS training and mentoring program in HTS China

Drive x- SBG process best practice sharing

Establish effective linkage with L&TT, Innovation and other enabling functions so that we have a Knowledge based development culture with cross collaboration

Establish effective linkage with SBG’s in other HTS locations, VPD leaders in the GBEs and ensure that there is effective Knowledge sharing and collaboration to meet the expected ‘outcomes’ with minimum Knowledge waste

Drives for continuously improving maturity of HOS and ensure seamless learning across sites in the SBG

Participates in GBE/LOB VPD maturity evaluation and use the learning to enhance HTS execution effectiveness

Enables connectivity for engineering leader participation in respective PAC, in case it does not exist

Requirements:

Over 10 years of experience in the quality / process improvement function

Understanding of various certifications in the area of quality / process standards

Familiar with VPD, HOS, CMMI, Six Sigma, Lean and Agile

Good understanding & experience in engineering and technologies used in Honeywell Products

Experience in deploying and enabling Cultural transformation in a Product dev context

Experience of how Capability can impact Cycle-time a Growth

Experience of lean and knowledge management product development practices

Interested in working in fast paced, global business environment

Able to work effectively cross-functional multi-stake holder environment

Customer centric and business oriented

Excellent communication skills in both English and Chinese

Passionate with process continuous improvement, keep questioning the status quo

Fast learner
