Job Description

Aon’s Transaction Liability Insurance team provides bespoke insurance solutions (mainly Warranty & Indemnity Insurance) that give financial security to buyers and sellers in M&A; transactions by transferring potential future liabilities to the insurance market. Forming a critical part of Aon’s regional specialty team and supportingthe Head of Transaction Liability Insurance (TL) in Asia, you will be assisting the Head of the Asia TL team in originating, advising, managing and executing TL opportunities. This is achieved through engaging the existing pool of clients in the private equity and financial institutions space, the internal Aon client network and their clients as well as and external advisers such as lawyers, investment banks and accounting firms, to develop relationships and deliver TL solutions to clients and prospects.

You will be responsible for:

At the outset, assisting the Asia TL team in the following, with the aim of being independent in developing the below:

  • Delivering TL solutions (primarily Warranty & Indemnity insurance) to clients and prospects by creating own technical expertise around W&I; insurance and other TL solutions.
  • Growing and maintaining strong relationships with insurance underwriters and the M&A; deal community, including banks, law firms, accountancy firms, private equity houses and professional/ industry groups
  • Raising awareness of TL products through education of existing Aon clients and the M&A; deal community by participating on panels, contributing articles to M&A; and insurance related publications and generally becoming a thought leader in the TL sector
  • Developing and implementing marketing plans and initiatives in conjunction with Aon marketing and business development teams

To be successful in this role you:

  • Should ideally need to possess corporate M&A; experience from leading law firms or financial advisers or otherwise have a strong understanding of how M&A; deals are conducted
  • Should have strong legal drafting skills or M&A; negotiating skills, with related five years’ experience, including ability to analyze transaction documents and financial statements and discern and provide advice on related risks
  • Should have strong people skills with the ability to work with others under pressure and to resolve conflict in a constructive manner
  • Will need to possess superior communication skills, both orally and in writing , and ability to effectively and confidently present to clients and other audiences
  • Can be based in Shanghai or Beijing and be open to travelling within the region
