Description

  • Provides input and executes logisticsstrategies to maximize the business benefit of corporate logisticsresources/contacts/scale

  • Integrates logistics plans and tactics withS&OP processes:Ensures logisticscapabilities are aligned with demand and supply plans, costs, andoutlooks;Determines gaps to plan anddevelops/ executes improvement plans to meet Supply Chain needs

  • Develops and maintains documentation ofbusiness requirements for logistics services – defined scopes of work – toenable competitive selection and to manage performance of logisticsproviders.Scope of work may includeglobal business requirements in terms of safety, service and cost.

  • Arranges and coordinates transportationassets and services to meet supply chain requirements such as thetransportation equipment fleet including ISO tanks, railcars, tank-trailers.

  • Monitors the day to day activities of thecontract logistics functions (e.g.: Freight Forwarders, Integrators, 3PLs,contract warehousing, etc.) for the Business to assure needs are being met

  • Ensures logistics practices and activitiescomply with company policies and are compliant with all government and industryregulations

  • Coordinates the investigation, root-causeanalysis, and resolution of transportation safety incidents complaints andclaims to drive continuous improvement of transportation providers and recoverlosses.

  • Manages transportation assets to ensurecompliance with DuPont engineering standards and regulatory requirements.

  • Documents and utilizes logistics bestpractices and procedures.

  • Participates in and supports the logisticsOutlook and PO processes.

  • Provides transportation cost informationand logistics advice through collaboration with the S&L organization, 3PLs,business teams, and site personnel.

  • Leads cost savings projects in theLogistics area – transportation and warehousing

  • Monitors and reports on logistics criticaloperating tasks (COTs) for performance improvement and cost savings.

  • Collaborates with order fulfillment,business supply chains and regional logistics resources to optimize end-to-endprocesses within the supply chain and order fulfillment areas

  • Analyze logistics performance and costreports from various systems to identify root cause for anomalies or itemsoutside of target objectives and identify corrective actions/improvementopportunities

Qualifications

  • Develop options and actions taken toaddress cost gaps in warehousing and transportation

  • Actions to address short and medium termperformance management for warehousing and transportation providers

  • Achieves logistics budgets and updatesoutlooks based on direction provided through the DIBM process.

  • Delivery to Promise performance and trendsfor third party providers

  • Participates/implements/monitorsoptimizationprojects in thetransportation/logistics arena in alignment with supply chain needs.

  • APICS CPIM

  • Six Sigma green belt certification

  • Four year college degree or equivalentexperience
