Data Scientist 1
We are seeking data mining scientist to perform data extraction and cleansing, statistical analysis and data modeling work. This is an exciting position, which provides the candidate an opportunity to solve web scale and high impact business, using big data processing techniques and statistical analysis methodologies.
Research, design and develop metrics for search performance evaluation and user behavior modeling.
Work with engineering, analytics and business partners to support search and marketing optimization.
Study the interaction among different types of metrics (financial, behavioral, and judgmental) by conducting correlation, regression and other data mining effort.
Perform on-demand metrics calculation and analysis work.
Serve as subject matter expert and drive thought leadership in the areas of statistical analysis, machine learning and business intelligence.
MS or PhD degree (preferred) in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or equivalent is required for this position.
2+ years industrial experience in data mining or statistical analysis is preferred, with detailed understanding of descriptive statistics, regression, time-series, hypothesis testing, classification and clustering, etc. Familiar with R.
Hands-on experience with big data processing, e.g. Hadoop, Pig/Hive, SQL is necessary. Familiar with Java, Python or other programming languages.
Good communications skills, both verbal and written in English and Chinese
Attention to detail and data accuracy.
