The Opportunity

We are looking for an individual with a good attention to detail and work ethic to join our operations team based in China, and be part of our global operations team responsible for creating our award winning GNPD service.

The Global New Products Database (GNPD) is a comprehensive subscription database that monitors mass market global consumer product launches in FMCG markets including Food, Drink, and Household and Beauty products.

The successful candidate will be expected to perform three core functions, Photography, Packaging and Translation of Chinese consumer products into English, all of which play a crucial part to the GNPD process.

The role reports directly to the National Coverage and Operations Manager, China.

Key responsibilities:

  • Taking digital photographs of our Chinese consumer products, in a high turnover environment. The images we take represent one of GNPDs unique selling points and as such quality and adhering and maintaining our photo capture methodology are crucial.

  • Analysing and logging packaging data from Chinese consumer products on to our proprietary data capture database, including its type and closure to how it has been printed and manufactured. In addition to this, packs are also measured and some weighed in order to give as complete an analysis as possible.

  • Translation of on-pack product data from Mandarin to English. Successful candidates will have the ability to read product information including ingredients and nutritional data and translating this coherently into English.

  • Meeting individual daily, weekly and monthly processing targets whilst achieving our data and image quality KPIs.

Candidates should possess:

  • Good working knowledge of English

  • Attention to detail is essential, with a focus on both productivity and quality.

  • An interest in photography and knowledge of imaging software would be beneficial, but not essential as full training will be given

  • A strong work ethic and a proven track record in meeting and exceeding targets

  • An interest in new products is preferred but not essential
