Corning’s Display Technologies segment manufactures glass substrates for active matrix liquid crystal displays (“LCDs”) that are used primarily in LCD televisions, notebook computers and flat panel desktop monitors.
Day to Day Responsibilities:
Designs and plans for such processes as cutting, washing, coating and other material-processing operations.
Plans sequence of operations and specifies procedures for finishing processes, exercising judgment in compromising between conflicting requirements, economic evaluation of methods, and operator effectiveness and comfort.
Conducts tests and measurements throughout stages of production to determine control over finisher’s performance metrics. Establishes and submits processing requirements to be met in designing and acquiring processing equipment.
Lead CM’s process engineers, frequently interacts with CM managers, and work with internal cross-functional team to drive improvement in CM site
Ensure protection of Corning’s intellectual assets and business information by using IAP protocols with on-site team members and CM staff.
Education & Experience :
BSc. or higher
Materials/Other Engineering major
4+ years Mass production/development engineering experience
Acceptable Oral/written English communication skill
Hands-on experience with glass finishing processes
Strong problem solving and analytical skills
Detail oriented and able to perform with limited supervision
Self-motivated, independent, flexible, quick learner
Excellent computer skills (working knowledge and use of Microsoft Office)
Customer oriented; meets customer needs with quality results
Ability to build effective working relationships with others
Ability to manage multiple priorities successfully
