The Great China Quality Group supports audit engagement teams and audit quality efforts. Responsibilities for the position include:

  • Lead the support of engagement teams and monitor teams undergoing inspections from PCAOB or other external inspectors, including the engagement team’s responses to comment forms

  • Interact with organizations performing external reviews

  • Monitoring other firm related activities including engagements and firm-level quality control matters

  • Preparing and reviewing the analysis and findings and develop communications regarding the results of the inspection activities

  • Develop people by encouraging individuals to think for themselves and take responsibility for their contributions to the team. Successfully delegate to all levels of staff. Conduct performance reviews, serve as a positive leader and mentor, and contribute to performance feedback/training. Foster teamwork and lead by example.

  • Helping to identify course modifications and/ or additional training needs.

Qualifications:

To qualify, candidates must have:

  • A bachelor’s degree and approximately 8 years of external audit experience (including at least one year as a manager) at an internationally recognized public accounting firm; or a graduate degree and approximately 7 years of related work experience

  • Prior experience within the quality group of an internationally recognized public accounting firm or with a regulatory agency

  • 3 years of experience with US GAAP and US GAAS

  • Strong technical knowledge of US GAAP, US GAAS, PCAOB standards and SEC rules

  • A degree in accounting, finance or related field

  • AICPA certification will be an advantage

  • Excellent written communication skills including the ability to draft concise and effective learning materials on complex, technical subject matter

  • A strong desire to broaden your technical skills

  • Strong verbal communication and, presentation skills; prior experience instructing technical accounting/audit courses is a definite asset

  • Ability and comfort in researching accounting and auditing inquiries and analyzing emerging issues relating to accounting standards and industry practices

  • Excellent managerial and organizational skills

  • A dedication to teamwork and leadership

  • Integrity within a professional environment

  • Prior experience in handling PCAOB inspections will be highly valued

  • Knowledgeable in system audit, including IT risk analyses

  • Being able to read and write Chinese
